A year long project, like a round robin, only it doesn't travel and you do the work yourself...

R7 Julie
I have added my three blocks along the bottom and am pleased with the final result. I think I've got the balance of colour and pattern right. Thank you for organising this Kate, I'm having a whale of a time :-) Can't wait for the next bit!

SHRR 6 Julie
I didn't think I'd get it done this month but here is my Round 6. I made up the 9"x3" block with curved piecing again and then added a 4"x3" square of dupion silk. I think I got a bit confused when I added the strip as it would have looked better on the left, and it would have matched the instructions! I may yet take it off and stitch it on the left side or I may add some applique to break up the blue areas. However, I am chuffed that just by chance the first blue block above the red matches up with the line of adjacent blue. I'm looking forward to the next bit as ever!

R5: Julie
You probably can't tell from the photo above but I have definitely made 2 separate blocks in the required sizes. The first block on the right is the blue panel with the snowball block. I have never done a snowball block before and I think my triangles may be a bit big but I like the effect and it leaves an area for potential embellishment later.
The 7" x 4" panel was constructed with more free-curved piecing echoing the fabrics elsewhere in the piece.
I never thought to check how much fabric I had got before I started this Round Robin so each month I am having to improvise with some of the smaller scraps I have. Round Robin is the mother of invention ;))

R4: Julie

Here's the lastest addition from Julie, about which she says: "Here's the next part of my RR. I decided to continue with the orange and blue theme and used a slightly curved line to join the pieces in this new strip to balance the curved piecing elsewhere. " I do love the colours in this one!
