R1, R2, R3 & R 4 : Marianne

Hi, I'm Marianne.
Thanks for allowing me to join in. I was searching for a round robin and this is so different I had to try it.

I've gone off on a different route. Instead of piecing my blocks I am using rubber stamps, inks, paint and sharpies. I will be doing more piecing with step 5.

#1 is the center block with the numbers and the word, both done with rubber stamps
#2 is to the left of center- red purple and blue with stamped stitches.
#3 top has three green stamped patches on what was once a cream swirl print. I darkened it with ink to a golden color
#4 to the right is a basket weave print over colored with purple ink. The dark line is a little over 1/4 inch from the edge so it will still be visible when an if something is added to that side.
Hopefully when I add step #5 I'll be able to get a better photo. The colors are off a bit.

A late arrival to the round robin - Winter Star is going to play along. Here's her starting square above, followed by her round 2 addition:

then round three:

And finally (for the moment) round 4.

Getting closer to round 5, ladies (& gent) - is everyone ready?

Another Robin: Kate

At the start of this project, I was toying with the idea of doing two robins in parallel but was so busy the idea kinda never went anywhere. However, this afternoon, after I finished off something else I was working on, I had a little more sewing time and decided to go ahead and start a second robin. I wanted to do something very different from the black and batik one, so I chose to work with my Japanese taupe fabrics. I started with a 6" variable star, and went on to:

a large rose, unpieced, for the second round, followed by:

A piano key type piece, separated from the other blocks by a one inch strip for the third round. For the current, fourth round, I decided to do another unpieced piece, again a larger rose, this time with a green background:

It's a lot straighter than it looks in this photo!

R1, R2 & R3: Annette

Annette talked about joining up before, but didn't have a chance to work on her blocks until now. So here they are all at once - and aren't they great?

R1 & R2: Cheryll

A new player has joined us - Cheryll, who blogs here - she has done round 1 & 2, but not 3 yet, I think (at any rate, I didn't see it on her blog). It's such fun seeing the different directions everyone is taking!
